The Magic Ice Cube

Science Experiment

This experiment teaches you that salt lowers the freezing point of water. Then the salt makes the ice melt. When you put salt on the thread which is on the ice, then the ice becomes a little unfrozen. Then the thread sinks in, and gets frozen back into the ice.

STUFF YOU NEED TO DO THIS:

- 1 ice cube
- cup or glass of ice water (with ice cubes in it)
- 6 inches of thread
- salt
- spoon (to pour the salt)
